This kit is so versatile . . . instead of going scary with this layout, I used a cute photo (one of my favs!)
of my daughter and her friend at the pumpkin patch taken back in 2006!

Boo . . . Scraps of Darkness October Kit, 2017

Hi everyone.  I am sharing my first layout made with the awesome October Scraps of Darkness kit!  I absolutely love all of the wonderful paper and goodies contained in this kit.  It's perfect for your Halloween photos!!!

Here is a photo of the patterned paper:

I used paper from the Pink Paislee Spellcast collection as my background:

My completed page:

I decided to use a photo that was taken at a Halloween Party that I attended with my family and friends this year.  My friend's home was decorated to the nines - the spider in the photo is just a small part of the cool and spooky decor she had.

In keeping with that theme, I used some of the fun items contained in the Fancy Pants ephemera pack:

And I enjoyed adding paint splatters using orange paint from the mixed media add-on:

I had a blast using the black and white flowers and black feathers that were a part of the main kit;
and the beautiful black lace from the elements add-on:

Making this page was so much fun!!!

It was a quick and easy layout.  I find that you don't have to spend hours creating a scrapbook page when you have all of the right ingredients at your fingertips!

I hope you get a chance to check out the Scraps of Darkness store and Facebook page.

Thank you so much for stopping by today.

Happy Scrapping!!!

Hi everyone . . . welcome November!  I can't believe that we turned the clocks back this past weekend and it's getting dark at 5:00 PM now.  It's been awhile since I blogged - I have missed it and scrapping.
Getting dark earlier gives me a little more time to scrap, so I decided to make a page to honor my family. especially my daughters and the holiday season.

Also, today is the first day of the new Challenge YOUrself challenge:

I had an excuse to use more of my beautiful Simple Stories "Vintage Blessings" collection:

Here is my finished page:

Since the challenge asks us to use sprays and inks, I sprayed my clouds with Lindy's Stamp Gang Starburst "Blue Hawaiian Blue" mist and my sun with their Starburst "Yellow Rose of Texas" spray.  I also inked my die cut trees and had fun sprinkling my white background with various shades of blue and white.

Here is a different view
And a close up:

This page is so special to me because it's all about family, especially me with my beautiful daughters.  And I sure did have fun making it for this month's Challenge YOUrself challenge, too.

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog today.  I hope you get a chance to play along with the challenge this month!

A Grateful Heart . . . Scraps of Darkness Aug Kit, 2017

Hi everyone!

I am sharing my 5th layout made with the amazing Scraps of Darkness "Sparkle and Shine" kit.  I just couldn't resist making one more layout because I absolutely LOVE this kit.  And I have so much left over, even after making 4 layouts!

Here's my 5th page:

This layout means a lot to me because I started with a vintage photo of my mom and dad that was taken long before they had us kids!  I used the beautiful Prima, Rose Quartz, double-sided paper entitled "Midnight Beauty."  I liked the side that looked almost like worn wallpaper to me.  I added some more interest by splattering the gold acrylic paint, hickory smoke spray stain, and the worn lipstick distress oxide ink - all are in the color add-on kit!  I added my title by cutting out the saying from the "Grateful Heart with Foil Accents" paper.

Here are some close-ups:

Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  I hope that I inspired you!!!

Happy Scrapping everyone!

Thankful for you . . .

Good Morning everyone!

Today I would like to share a layout that I made for the newest Challenge YOUrself challenge.  This month is all about autumn:

I chose to use photos that were taken during our autumn - trip to Paris in 2011.  Two of my favorite photos were these:

And here is my take:

I used the Simple Stories "Vintage Blessings" collection to make my page!

**In addition, I am linking my page to Art Journal Journey this month.**

Froebelsternchen Susi asked me to link it to their "Landscapes of the Soul" theme this month.  Thank you so much, Susi!  I encourage all of you to check out the AJJ blog because it is filled with so many wonderful works of art by talented artistists!

And I hope all of you scrappers out there get a chance to participate in this month's challenge at Challenge YOUrself!  The fall mood board was so much fun to work with.

Happy Crafting!

And thank you all so much for stopping by my blog today.  HUGS!

We Run for Life, Scraps of Darkness August Kit, 2017

Hi Everyone!

It's Sharon here to share another layout that I made with the August Scraps of Darkness "Sparkle and Shine" kit! It's simply fabulous - I had so much fun creating this page using the main kit and add-ons.

I decided to scrap some photos that were taken at the Women's 5K Classic last year
since there is a lot of the color pink in this kit.

Here's my page:

I used a grid design in order to get 4 photos from the event on my page.  I featured the paper "Wonderful" and "Be Amazing" from Simple Stories' Beautiful collection included in the main kit.

Here are some close ups:

Please take a minute to check out the Scraps of Darkness store to see this month's kit:

And the coordinating add-ons, too.  Hurry, because the kits and add ons go quickly every month!  Don't forget about the monthly kit club subscription.  If you join, you won't miss out on anything :)

Have a great week - I hope it's filled with lots of scrapping.  Thank you SO MUCH for stopping by my blog today!

Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful, Scraps of Darkness August Kit, 2017

Hi everyone!

I'm here today to share my third project made with the  August, 2017 Scraps of Darkness

WOW!  This kit is full of amazing paper and embellishments that make your layouts really shine!

I enjoyed making this page using a photo that I just took while on vacation this summer:

I was looking for a moody effect, so I converted it to black and white:

I took the photo while walking on the Atlantic City boardwalk one evening.  The Bruce Springsteen song "Born to Run" came to mind when I printed it out the b&w version.

Here's my page:

This time I used the "Grateful Heart" paper from Prima's Rose Quartz Collection as my background.

I was drawn to this pink and white color scheme.

Here are some close-ups:

This page was so quick and easy to make using the Scraps of Darkness main kit:

and add-ons!!

Happy Scrapping everyone!
